You are invited to come and worship with us this Sunday.

"For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the
ungodly. For one will hardly die for a righteous man; though perhaps
for the good man someone would dare even to die. But God
demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners,
Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His
blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him. For if
while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of
His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His
life. And not only this, but we also exult in God through our Lord Jesus
Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation."
Romans 5:6-11
This is the 'Good News' that the Lutheran Church of Our Savior believes
and rejoices in. This is why Christ was born.
The angel said to Joseph, "you shall call His name Jesus,
for He will save His people from their sins." Matthew 1:21
And for this we are thankful.

Season of the Church Year: The Time Of The Christmas
The Time of Christmas has three parts. It begins with the season of
Advent. It is a time of preparation for the coming of Christ, both His
coming in the incarnation at Christmas and for His second coming at
the end of the world as King and Judge. God's promise to redeem His
people is not a haphazardly conceived afterthought; our adoption as
sons and daughters of God in Christ follows a deliberate, eternal,
and certain divine plan, consistently foretold by the prophets and
now revealed in its fulness by the apostles and evangelists.
"Hosanna!" Oh, Lord save us now.
After Advent comes Christmas which is the season in which we hear
the "glad tidings of great joy" that the Savior of the
world is born. The coming of God into human flesh, the Incarnation,
means God is not far off, but near. Immanuel has come to save us
from our sins.
The season of Epiphany begins by commemorating the visit of the
Gentile Wise Men to the Savior Jesus. There is great rejoicing and
gladness since the light of the world is revealed to the nations.
This revelation emphasis continues, as the Gospel readings depict
how Jesus revealed Himself in word and deed. This season includes
the Baptism of Jesus when our Father's voice was heard from heaven
saying, "this is my Son, whom I love; with Him I am well pleased."
The Epiphany season ends with the festival of the Transfiguration
of Our Lord, when Jesus revealed His divine glory to His disciples.
